Man what a week. I left town for a couple days for work and glad to be back home and finally editing this session. I love return clients and she is such a pleasure to photograph. What a doll! Jayla finally turned 1 and was 13 months during this session. We had a pretty serious model on our hands, but we got a few smiles out of her. These are some of my favorites.

At the end of the session she gave me the biggest hug. I love my job! That made my day. Thank you so much for calling, she is such a sweetheart.

What a precious little girl. She was 8 weeks at the session and did awesome. We even got her to sleep for about 10 minutes during the shoot to get some sleeping pictures. The photo below is so cute - a half smile. At least with an 8 week old you get a few smiles.

I was so excited to get her to sleep in my new basket. My husband picked this out for me at an antique store and he gets major bonus points - it is so cute.

It was great to meet the whole family. You have a wonderful addition.

What a precious little girl. She was six month old and sitting, but not always stable. We had a great first 30 minutes with smiles and different props. She was enjoying being in front of the camera and then the roll over that scared her a little. She didn't like my studio too much after that.

I love this picture below. So grown up whispering something to her mom. She is too cute!

Look at those eyes. I love this age - sitting, but can't crawl or walk away. This stage is a really great time to take pictures.

We did get a couple more at the end of the session after a good feeding and loves from mom. Thanks so much for calling. It was great to meet everyone.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day! This used to be my least favorite holiday of the year. Actually it probably still is, but with kids every holiday is a little more fun. Isaac and I went to a couple of Valentine's Day parties and he loved it, so it makes it all worth it.

I am posting a long post on my 2.5 year old son. He is amazing and finally for the first time . . . EVER he wanted to take photos. This session was quick and to the point, but I got some wondering pictures of him being him!

Also he is going to make a wonderful big brother. Yes that is right we are expecting our second little addition the end of May. Just a side note - I will only be taking photo sessions until the end of April (more on this later).

He has the best smile, laugh, hugs, cheek kisses, and mood swings - Ha! I think this session started off well because he could play with the new train I bought at Hobby Lobby. This has definitely come in use already with the past 2 photo sessions I've had, so good purchase.

This is what happens when a 2 year old is actually listening and dad is standing behind me. I just thought it was funny. Sometime the most natural poses are the best.

His sensitive side. Just this past week he has started asking to cuddle with mom. I won't complain.

My 2 year old! Wow they grow up fast.

I love the right one "Are we done yet?" A picture can speak a thousand words.

Taetum shares my birthday weekend and just turned 2. This is such a hard age, trust me I have a 2 year old. Pictures are not usually at the top of their priority. We started out pretty shy, but by the end of the session we were playing, smiling and capturing some great pictures. I don't know what dad was doing behind my back, but she was laughing and giving us some of the best smiles!

This was at the very end of the session. I think she was probably done, but I love how they turned out. The best poses are the ones the children make themselves.

Steele

What a doll. I met Steele last summer with his family for an outdoor photo session and he has changed so much in just 6 months. It took awhile to warm up to idea of pictures, but once he did we got some great shots of him smiling and playing.

I love this hat. I actually have a hat that is very similar for Isaac, but try and get a 2.5 year old to wear something he doesn't want to. It is still sitting in his hat drawer. Nice to see someone likes the hat.

Steele warmed up to the picture idea with the train. It was a big hit and we had a lot of fun with it. I might have to buy a couple more cute props to get the older kiddos out in front of the camera.

We had a great session and I can't wait for you to see the rest. He really is a sweet heart. Also Brandie, I probably actually owe you because after Steele left Isaac said he wanted his pictures taken. He has never in 2.5 years taken photos for me, especially in the studio. I'll post those pictures next, so thank you!

AZ Workshop

Where did January go? I can't believe it is already February and this month seems to be flying by too. When I saw information on this workshop in Phoenix I couldn't pass it up. My husband was awesome and said I should go, I had frequent flier miles, a best friend to crash with, and 2 great photographers to learn from. It just seemed like it was meant to be. The workshop is Create Better Images put on by 2 amazing photographers in the Arizona area. After going over photography at the studio for 3 hours we got to head outside with 3 amazing models and put our skills to the test.

Cheyenne is a high school senior and an amazing model. Isn't she gorgeous? I never looked like this in high school. She was so sweet and great at doing whatever 20 photographers asked of her.

We also had a couple model for us as a bride and groom. It actually is a sad story, they hired a photographer for their wedding, saw their photos online and then he went bankrupt and they never got proofs, pictures, a wedding album, nothing. Six years later and finally they will have some photos they can cherish for a long time. This couple was also great to work with and up for anything.

One thing I took away from this class - don't be afraid of light. I love Arizona warm light. Aren't these amazing? In Montana during winter we don't see light like this, so it was fun to photograph in.

I don't have too many seniors that I photograph so working with her was a lot of fun.

What a great weekend in Arizona. Now I'm excited for summer, warm sunshine, and fun outdoors. I'm starting to get a little cabin fever with all this snow.

What a great way to start off the new year. In Montana it could be below freezing (like the week before), all brown with no snow, or windy. One never really knows what the weather holds in store; this couple couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day in January for a wedding. We had fresh snow, warmer weather, and a beautiful couple. You both look great together and had the perma grin, which makes shooting pictures so easy!

These are only a couple of my favorite photographs from the day.

Isn't Kassi stunning? You were a gorgeous bride. I love the photograph of you on the right. Flawless!

What a year. . . in January last year my husband, father-in-law, and I remodeled our basement into an office/studio and I've been so blessed this year with wonderful infants and children to photograph. This was my last session of 2009 and what a wonderful way to end the year. Little Ryan is beautiful and 3 weeks old. I thought he might be awake a lot of this session, but this little guy slept the entire time. He gave me the best Christmas present of all - thank you!

The beautiful parents. Mom is gorgeous and that is the only picture you will see Ryan's eyes, he opened them for about 10 minutes and then fell asleep again.

The wonderful older brother. Cameron was one of my first 1 year old in the studio last April. We got some wonderful picture of him smiling and on the move. This time he was pretty shy, but I got a couple of him smiling. His parents said they had no expectations with the "stage" he was in, but I think we got a couple really cute ones of Cameron.

Look at those lips! They would really puff out when we pulled the pacifier out, but they are so cute.

Alright, my new favorite picture - bottom left. I have seen these pictures all the time, but really didn't think they were possible. Ryan let his mom and I prop him up like this and he slept right through it. Really this was the best Christmas present ever - isn't it cute??

What a wonderful 2009. I have met some wonderful clients, children, infants, and have had the best time capturing all your moments through 2009. Thank you for calling and letting me into each of your lives even if it is only for one hour. I LOVE this job! Thank you Ryan for sleeping through the whole 2 hour session and being an adorable baby.

What a precious 1 year old. She wasn't walking yet, but loved to stand up. She had the cutest smile and didn't really like the studio lights. She would squint up her face so we couldn't even see her eyes, but she was smiling. It was so cute. These are just a couple of my favorites, she has quiet a few cute ones. Amy I forgot to get the spelling of her name, so I hope this is right. I will probably be calling you or you can email me.

I love the bottom right, such a cute little poser.

Look at this Christmas dress. I don't know what it is like buying such cute clothes since I just have a boy, but this dress is adorable. She was loving the skirt.

We went outside for a few quick photos before the sun set. It was getting pretty dark. Zoey loved the snow.

I have to say, my favorite studio shot is the bottom right picture. Even though she isn't smiling there is such an innocents to this picture.

Happy Birthday to Zoey! She also had a cake that she didn't really eat, just finger painted all over the floor. It was cute to watch, but messy to clean up. It was wonderful meeting your whole family. Have a Merry Christmas.

Cambree & Landon

This poor family came down with the H1N1 flu so we just had to keep waiting for everyone to feel good again. I'm so glad that we could find a time that worked for these two children. They were so good and fun to photograph. I love return clients, but Cambree didn't remember me from the first time. It took awhile for her to start smiling, but once she warmed up we had a great time.

I think my favorite from this session is Cambree with her brother.

Two Families . . . Short on Time

Finally I'm back and posting on some of my photos from November! I have been so busy with family in town and getting ready for Christmas that blogging was not at the top of my list. I am finally caught up for Christmas, well kind of, but I thought I would blog on a couple sessions today.

This was the last Saturday I had open for Christmas pictures and it was a busy Saturday for these two families. One family was on call with the hospital all day so we had to be on our toes in case they had to leave and the other family was heading to Bozeman for the CAT/GRIZ football game in 30 minutes. We got a lot accomplished on this windy, cold Saturday morning. These families were a lot of fun under the time crunch and we got all the pictures they wanted.

Look at these cousins. They were very good and did well with the time crunch.

It was so great to meet both of your families. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and hopefully next time we'll have a little more time.

Kysen

This is the first infant I have taken photos of in a long time, I think since early summer. I must have been a little rusty as this little guy didn't fall asleep the whole time during pictures. I decided I am not an infant whisperer - I struggled getting my own to sleep. We tried everything; at least he is a very easy going baby and took tons of photos with his eyes open!

This will be a longer post as Kysen's dad is serving our wonderful country over seas and hasn't met him yet. I took their wedding pictures two summers ago and they are a wonderful couple. I am very excited for you both as you make wonderful parents.

I think Kysen is smiling a little in this photo. Or possibly going to the bathroom for the tenth time. After two bottles, babies have to go. Poor mom got peed on three times I think.

Almost asleep, but never fully asleep. I think this is a cute picture of him.

This is probably one of my favorites. I don't know why I love the yawn. This is how I know he is extremely tired, but just won't give up. He really didn't want to miss anything and enjoyed all the lights.

Thank you so much for bring him over at only 13 days old. He such a cute baby and very good for not falling asleep the whole time. Hopefully he napped really good for you that afternoon!

Kacee, thank you for fighting for our freedom! You have a beautiful boy that is being well taken care of.

This family was so cooperative for only being 20 degrees outside. I'm glad we could all find a time that worked for everyone, and the kids were great! There were so many pictures taken during this hour session and here are just a few. They will be ready soon.

What a wonderful family. It actually turned out to be a fairly nice afternoon for November in Montana. It usually never happens that the last photo of the session is the best with kiddos this small. I love the family photo above and we even got the dog to stay.

The youngest was so busy and just a typical little boy. His parents did an awesome job at getting him to smile. I love the pictures of the boys below.

I just had to add this photo. So cute of the oldest boy with dad.

This was a fun family session. The kids were at a familiar area taking pictures at "papa" and "nana's" house. The landscape was gorgeous and a great place to take family pictures. This fall the sun hasn't been out very much, so I can photograph anywhere. Today was a bright, sunny day and we had to work to find the perfect spots. I love the way this photo session turned out - the kids make it one of a kind!

The photo below is one of my favorites. These two were great in front of the camera - such a fun interaction.

After taking about 40 minutes of family photos we added the "whole" family. For one picture I think most everyone is looking at the camera. This is really when I need an assistant to dance crazy next to me - then all the little kiddos would look at me.

I am so glad that we finally could find a weekend that worked. I really wish there were more fall colors, but this session turned out great for the end of October. . . could have been snow!

What a cute, busy boy. I was wondering after this session if I was going to get any "great" pictures of Collin looking at the camera and smiling. He is a busy kid, and was enjoying the new location and golfing. After I downloaded all the pictures onto my computer I was really excited. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures.

I think this tree is the only fall colored tree in Billings. I'm pretty sure by this weekend all the leaves are gone.

It was fun to watch Collin golf and love it so much. He is a typical boy in love with sports.

It is always fun to see families grow with new additions. All the kids were so good and did really well with the cooler weather. The above picture is one of my favorite family pictures. I didn't even have to combine two pictures - everyone is smiling and looking at me in 1 photo. This doesn't happen often.

The girls were really easy to photograph since they would come up with their own poses and I just clicked the picture.

Welcome to Montana. One really never knows what the weather is going to be like. I am so glad that Quincy was up for the 20 degree morning. He wanted fall colors and I think we got a little fall and winter. Sad to say I don't think we are getting fall this year at all. The storm a week ago froze the leaves green and now they are all just dropping. No beautiful colors; no oranges and reds - I love fall and right now I feel like I'm stuck in a grey winter.

Here are a few of my favorites from the freezing morning. You would never tell it by these pictures that it was only 20 degrees out.

Happy 1st Birthday Lila!!! She was the happiest little girl during this session - I loved it. One hour of fun and laughs. I cannot believe how fast the newborns I photograph grow up, and it has been a joy to watch Lila turn one. I love the way this photo shoot turned out. This is her Halloween costume, so cute. She was flapping around like a little chick as you can actually see in the picture her hands are a little blurry they are moving so quick. She was walking and moving and grooving in the studio.

The cake! She was getting pretty hungry towards the end of the session and enjoyed her cake. I loved this picture.

Her mom was a little worried how she would do in a studio setting instead of outside with her puppy. I think she did wonderful. Enjoy!

I am so happy when photography gets me back in touch with wonderful highschool friends. I went to school with Brandie and it was fun to meet her family. I was so glad that our schedules allowed us to switch the photo session to the last warm day of September. Now it looks like it is going to be a cold winter.

I love the picture below. Isn't he cute? He didn't want to smile, very into exploring, but still did great in front of the camera. I think that counts as a half smile.

my first client. . .

I don't know if you would call taking pictures of my sister's family a "client", but she has been around a long time while I improved my camera skills. We used to go in the back yard and take "senior" photos for fun on the weekends. She loved to model and I love to put the blur lens on my dad's old SLR camera. We would spend hours getting all prepped like models and taking photos upon photos. Wish it was digital, but it still was an amazing start and fun!

They are so great. I love my niece and nephew. Always cute and make a morning so much fun. This photo session was not work, but an hour of play, visit, and fun!

Look at my nephew below. This was his best photo shoot by far and on the same track to being a model like his dad. Okay ex-model. He came up with all the poses during this shoot and they were great.

Now Brinnley was another story. All her mom wanted was a nice 2 year old picture to hang on the wall. Preferably large like 8x10. We struggled to get her to give us a smile. She was either smiling so big we couldn't see those beautiful eyes or else she was not having it. I think I got a couple, hope you like them. I just love the photo below, too fun.

Now weather or not these two are one of your favorites, I LOVE them. Love her eyes.

I was so excited to hear that Lisa was engaged and honored when she asked if I would photograph her wedding. Lisa and I grew up together since we are cousins and spent many holidays playing and causing trouble. I was excited to meet the man that stole her heart and throughout pictures I understood what she sees in him. He is a great guy and they make such a beautiful, happy couple. Congratulations!

This wedding took place in Cody, Wyoming at the Chamberlin Inn. I fell in love with this cute hotel as soon as I drove up. The court yard was perfect - well manicured, trees, and awesome details everywhere. If my family ever goes to Cody to stay for a weekend I will definitely be staying at this place; so clean, well kept, and perfect for a wedding!

This family knows how to have fun. Such a great family and wonderful friends for the past 16 years! Can that be right? Man we have played and watched our fair share of basketball games and tournaments.

What a beautiful couple and wedding day. I am behind in posting and very sorry that this is a week late! This wedding took place last weekend at DanWalt Gardens. I have never heard of this facility and it is gorgeous! They even have a little reception hall on site to have a full wedding day event. I love to start the day out taking photographs of the bride getting her hair done and makeup on.

Maybe this took a week because it was too hard to decide what photos to post. I photographed their wedding story for 9 hours and am really struggling which pictures are my favorite. This wedding party was a lot of fun and we got some great pictures.

Details. . . Details. . . Details. Once again a bride and groom with a talented family. The brides aunts helped with the flowers, made the bridesmaides necklaces, and helped out where needed. The brides sister-in-law is a graphic designer and created the invitations, signs, programs, and helped where needed. She is also a great friend of mine and is awesome at what she does.

This wedding was full of wonderful details. Their reception was at the Billings Hotel and this couple added some details that really made a big difference during the reception. They rented table clothes and napkins in their colors, gorgeous! I loved the center pieces and all the flowers. They had a candy bar for guests to pick up all sorts of favorite candies. The atmosphere in the room was fun and elegant.

The bride and groom. Such a great looking couple. They choose to wait and see each other for the first time after during the ceremony. This worked out well for a early September wedding the evening light was perfect. I love how their portrait photographs turned out! We had a great time walking around the facility taking pictures all throughout the gardens. Below are only a few of my favorites - I have way too many.

I love this picture. I really need to get my off camera flash set up working because this is one of my favorite dancing pictures!

Norman Family

What a great looking family and our great friends. I LOVE taking photo of my friends children, their families, anything. I love to get to know my clients so they become wonderful friends. It makes it so fun to go to a photo shoot, visit, have fun, and capture some great moments while talking. It is my girls night out when I have a photo shoot. This photo session was pretty special. I love Sammy and got to know him really well last spring when I watched him two days a week. He was pretty reserved back then, quiet, and a little cuddler. He can give the best hugs! Well tonight was a new Sammy, this kid was EVERYWHERE, very busy! He was pulling the shy card when I first got there. It has been awhile, and he wanted nothing to do with the camera or me.

I love the photo below, little mister independent. He really didn't want to sit with his parents or join in a "family" photo, he wanted to be out on his own. Growing up way too fast!

There is something about the picture below I LOVE! This was one of the first couple of pictures, love his look concerned and very serious.

Then we start to warm up. Look not only a smile, but teeth!

This is the smile I'm used to seeing. Not really a smile, but it is.

Yes these few are at the end. He is holding a grasshopper. I guess he loves these things and it kind of surprised me. He would let it crawl all over him and didn't care. Not me - especially if it jumps!

I am so glad we finally got something to work out with our schedules. This is a perfect location and I love how all these pictures turned out. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also sorry it took so long, I had a 10 hour wedding on Saturday and feel like I'm getting further and further behind.

Largest Group Session

This is the largest family session I've done and probably will do outside of weddings. What a wonderful family and they came ready to take pictures. For the most part all the kids were awesome and we charged through the list of photos wanted of this continually growing family.

Two family pictures were combined to get this group shot, but it was only one person that I needed to change. Carter has his eyes closed, and now they are open. To only have to change one thing with this picture is great!! Usually I'm combining three different pictures to get that "one" perfect shot. Such a great looking bunch.

McKay & Ashley

What a wonderful day! Their ceremony was last Friday, it was a little bright and warm, but they still had a great day. They make taking pictures way too easy. Constantly smiling and they were up for anything. I had a great morning with their families, all the kids, and the couple taking pictures.

I loved the colors they picked out - black, red, and white. These were also my colors for our wedding and they look so good together. The group pictures turned out amazing. Below is the couple coming out of the Temple husband & wife. I just had to smile as all the kids came running up to congratulate them. Their nieces and nephews were so excited!

All morning long they were smiling and laughing with each other.

Congratulations McKay & Ashley! This picture was taken this morning after their ceremony. What a beautiful day and beautiful couple. I will post more from their portrait session later, but I wanted to show some pictures from the bridal session we took two weeks ago.

Ashley is a gorgeous bride and this is a gorgeous dress. Below are my favorites.

This was my first time ever doing a Bridal session - usually I do an engagement session with the couple. If the bride wants to get some fun shots before the ceremony this is a great way to do it. It is less stressful then the wedding day. I love the pictures from this session.

What a great couple. All day they were looking at each other and just smiling and laughing. Very happy and should be - it was THEIR day! There are many more photos on a slide show below - I just couldn't post all the pictures I wanted to. They choose to see each other prior to the ceremony. This allowed the couple to have fun with the pictures, visit with family/friends, and enjoy each other's company before the ciaos of the ceremony and reception.

The cake was made by Jayne's Signature Sweets - she makes wonderful cake and the bride was so excited because it looked just like the picture she gave her. Beautiful cake! All the flowers were created by Vans IGA and turned out great.

My first senior session of the summer. The was a fun photo shoot in a neighbors back yard under the rims. They have an amazing yard; very well kept, big boulders, and a huge lawn of green grass. What a wonderful family. It has been fun getting to know this family during summers at the kids play dates (ok maybe mommy play dates). I still can't believe school is starting. So I wasn't the strange camera lady, but you just never know how children are going to do. Lane exceeded my expectations for being 3, he was a champ for 45 minutes worth of family pictures.

It was so hard to schedule this family session. None of our weekends fell into place until the last weekend of the summer. What a great morning for pictures and the Zoo was a perfect place - I love the Zoo!

I love the series of photos below. Is he not adorable. I just wanted to give him hugs during the whole photo session, such a great kid.

We had a great time walking around the zoo taking pictures in tons of different spots. Did I mention I love the zoo. I don't even have to go see the animals, I just love walking around the front half of the zoo looking for spots to take pictures.

On days I photograph these two wonderful kids I don't have to workout. They are busy! I love watching kids grow up and being able to photograph these two have been a blast over the last 2 years. This was the first time I've photographed the family all together. There are so many fun pictures - I couldn't post them all. I love the candid photos from this session the most, probably because the kids have so much energy it shows in each picture.

Tonight is a late night, but this little 7 month old was so sweet I just had to get some pictures of her up. She never cried and this was the hardest post to just pick a couple. I could have posted 10 pictures or more. We actually got quite a few smiles out her. At the beginning she was pretty serious, but she warmed up and her parents were great. Such a sweetie with gorgeous brown eyes!

I love the photo below in the basket. So cute.

I really struggled with leaving the photo below in color or black and white. I just love this picture in black and white so went with it.

What a wonderful family. I grew up with Joby and he helped me more then he probably knows through my first year of college. I was a little lost and since we were both going into engineering fields we had a lot of the same classes. Thanks for steering me on the right track with school. Since then he moved east and it is always fun to get together when all our high school friends are in town. I was excited to photograph the family as a whole, but haven't done three families in one session ever.

I love the black and white photos from this session. This could have been all black and white pictures, must have been the clothes. The top photo is my favorite picture.

Look at Mimi. Such a great name instead of "grandma". You have wonderful grand kids.

the ranch

A couple of weeks ago my sister and I loaded up the kids and headed to the ranch. I love going there so quiet and beautiful. Instead of uploading 20 pictures I thought a collage would do the weekend justice. My little guy just turned 2, so sad.

Such a cute bunch of kids, love them all to pieces. My nephew is 4, my niece turns 2 in September, and Isaac turned 2 the beginning of July. They grow up too fast!

If anyone has that "special" family place they would love to take photos at just let me know. I'm always up for new locations.

Elias & Silas

Such adorable brothers. We are good friends with this family, and I was really excited when their mom called for pictures. What great kids - Elias listened really well and has great manners, and Silas look at him, he is an adorable 1 year old. I struggled to narrow this session down - way too many cute photos. Here are my favorite.

We took some photos in the studio and thankfully no thunderstorm, so we went outside for a little fun. Look at little Silas below, I didn't pose him like that - so cute! Toward the end I think Elias was done, but we were still getting some great smiles out of him. I love what parents do to get their children to smile.

Silas is a pretty serious little boy, but I LOVE the picture below. So innocent.

Look at those eyes!

I didn't even notice this until I started editing the pictures, but these two kids have the best eyes and they are different color. Elias has beautiful blue eyes and Silas has beautiful green eyes.

What a week-with company, birthdays, and parties I have been slacking on my photo blog. Thank you so much for waiting for these pictures.

We took Jaxson's 1 year old photos last Monday and he was the happiest 1 year old I have had in a long time. . . possibly ever! It was so hard just to pick a couple for this post and Jen you will have tons to pick from because I just couldn't pick the best 30-40 pictures.

This was a fun session with both parents in some of the pictures. We took some of the photos in the studio and all the family photos outside in my back yard. I love my yard, lots of maintance, but I think it worked well for their photos.

Jaxson can crawl and FAST. He would crawl out of the lighting within seconds. . . until daddy started signing the Twins baseball song - I think I'm right? Right? Jaxson would start dancing and smiling.

Jaxson also got a cake for this session. He didn't really like it. It took awhile for him to smile about the cake and he never really ate any of it. He did like the frosting though. Note to all the moms out there. Albersons gives free birthday cakes for 1 year olds. So if you have a 1 year old and want pictures with a cake or just want them to have their own cake at their party, pick one up there.

I have had quite a few girls in the past few sessions. Usually I'm blessed with just the boys, but this past week it has been a lot of fun with the bright colors, flowers, bows, and tutus. She was 5 days old at this session and both her and her mom looked great. I was excited for an early baby, they always sleep, still supposed to be flexible and let me put them into any position. Now Shaylee, she was very alert and once again another baby that stayed awake for 90 minutes before giving it up and sleeping. Once she fell asleep we got some great photos of her, she is adorable.

I love the two photos below. At least once we got her to sleep she let us play with positioning her hands. Look at those lips!

Chelsie, thank you so much for trusting me with your family and 5 day old girl. I had a great time and I do have a family photo that I'll have to post later. I have some of the best clients with the best taste. Lila is adorable, she has amazing eyes and a wonderful personality. This was another photo session that I didn't know how well it was going to go. She fell asleep on the way over to the session and didn't take an afternoon nap. Some babies would be done at that point. We just brought her dog out and we could get smiles out of her regardless of how tired she was.

Jill you did an amazing job on this tutu, and this hat is perfect. Look at those eyes!

This dress came from Pride and Joy and I think it is adorable. I love the walking photo below. Once again toward the end of the session and we still were getting smiles. Lila is so even tempered, nothing like my little guy. When she does cry it is so soft and sincere.

I love this photo below. She was starting to walk through the some light shinny through the trees, but it is still too cute.

Thanks Lila for being such a great little 9 month old. I love watching my newborn clients grow up. I was lucky to photograph her when she was around two months old. They grow up too fast! Thanks for the fun evening.

Quinn & Ava

What adorable girls. This was Quinn's 1 year old session and she really wasn't into pictures. I think there are some beautiful pictures of her serious, but not a lot smiling. At the end of the session all she wanted to do was touch my camera, maybe that is why she didn't really enjoy the session. I love the photo above with the sisters and after turning the photo below into black and white I fell in love with it too. So precious holding her teddy bear.

Now Ava was really into pictures. A girl that loved to smile, dress up and pose for me. Maybe this was her session?? I fell in love with this photo below too. These tutus were very cute on the girls.

For a 1 year old session this is such a fun idea. Bring a cake in and take photos of the fun, some kids love cake some kids don't. Quinn loved this cake.

Even though she is crying I think she looks adorable in this hat. The photo on the right was the smiles we got during the last 1 minute of our session outside.

Ava did awesome during the session and I think had a lot of fun.

What a beautiful couple, wedding, and reception. It did rain for good luck, but not until about 9 that night so we had a full day of pictures and sun. I work with Kurtis and met Chrissie last summer when we took engagement photos. This couple has a lot of fun together. They are blessed with wonderful friends and family. I had a great day capturing their wedding story.

When I arrived at the church to take some photos of the girls getting ready they were still in the process of putting on makeup and fixing last minute touches on their hair. This is so much fun to photograph.

The couple decided to see each other before the ceremony. I like to give each couple 5-10 minutes to enjoy each other and visit for a few minutes prior to the craziness of the day. I usually just hang out in a corner and take photos from a distance of the "first look". I thought this was a sweet moment.

The beautiful details from the day. This couple has an amazing talented family. The bride's uncle made the cake, the groom's aunt created all the flower arrangements, the bride and groom did a great job on the colors, wedding brochures, everything was beautiful.

After the ceremony the trolley took the wedding party to the top of the rims where we took some final pictures. Such a beautiful day with bright blue sky. The rim photos are probably my favorite pictures from the day. Something different and fun and great lighting. Cody & Chelsea

This was a fun Wednesday night. I heard Chelsea and Cody were going to be in town for a couple months passing through on their way to their new home - Omaha. Cody is starting dental school and they are enjoying time with family and friends. I grew up down the street from Cody and was best friends with Chelsea's older sister in high school. They are so fun and had some amazing ideas. Chelsea is in the process of starting her own photography business and is going about it the same was I did. Take tons of family and friends and continue to learn, learn, learn.

I got a hold of Chelsea to take my family photos since she was going to be in town and we decided it would be fun to exchange pictures. I was really excited to hear she wanted an urban session. I love taking photos downtown in alleys, sidewalks, next to neat old doors. I definitely would not call myself an urban photographer. I like the natural photo, I spend hours trying to get pictures as true to "real color" as I can, but with urban photography colors pop and photoshop is my best friend. There are probably way too many, but let me know what you think of the urban session.

I got to play around with the lighting and was so excited to get the sun flare just perfect.

This next series makes me smile. I love it, you both are way too cute.

Since Chelsea is a photographer she new places she wanted to go. This is the door she definitely wanted. This was a fun area to take photographs at. Hopefully I took what you wanted. . .

Chelsea also wanted this Pepsi wall. I think this photo turned out great. I have never even noticed this wall, but another great spot to take pictures.

We took too many photos this evening, so I'm also leaving a slide show. Not what I usually do for a portrait session, but as a photographer she had too many ideas and I just kept clicking. The Springhill Pavilion in Bozeman. This beautiful place sits at the foothills of the Bridger mountains and is home to many weddings. Probably not too many June weddings like this. . .

I was referred to Linsey and Robert by my best friends in Arizona, and once I met Linsey I knew we would hit it off. She just graduated from MSU in Civil Engineering, go CATS, and now has a job in Billings! Linsey and Robert were a great couple and I'm so glad they were up for anything on this crazy June 6th day.

You would think this wedding took place in March or April. I think it reached a high of 45 degrees, rained all day (very good luck), and at the start of dinner it was snowing. We had a great 15 minutes of photos in the rain and then in the snow. The photos below are my favorite, not normal June wedding photographs, but they turned out perfect.

Cameron is an adorable 1 year old. He is so cute. I love his hair, his little outfit and that he was my first 1 year old in the studio. I also am really glad that he wasn't walking yet; this little guy could crawl and crawl FAST! I also love parents, Cameron's mom came with him and she just kept saying "sorry". He got tired toward the end, I don't blame him, 1 hour for kids is a long time. He did great and I'm so happy with these photos. I hope you enjoy them too.

I love this photo below. It was one of the last couple during the photo session and I am surprised we got this smile out of him - maybe that is why I love it - a great surprise.

Well since spring isn't in the air I guess babies are. It seems like all of our friends are adding little additions to their families. We really enjoy Gavin's family and get to see them all throughout the summer at barbecues and softball games. Looking forward to the warmer weather and letting the kids play outside! Gavin is a precious little baby and he was so good. Gavin was 4 weeks old at this session and once again we worked to get this little guy to sleep.

I love this photo below. Mom and dad holding Gavin and big sister looking on. She is such a loving big sister and had fun in my princess skirt - Yes a girl to take photos of!

I love this picture. I tried something different with the background and added a little weathering look. I think it turned out really cute. She was a great little model for just being 2.5 years old. Look at those beautiful green eyes.

Now look at Gavin's beautiful blue eyes. I saw a lot of eyes and not much sleeping, but he was still really good. I think when older babies come in for an infant session they can see a little farther at 4 weeks old and all the lights really interest them. It has taken quite a bit to get these last two infants to sleep at their sessions. Once Gavin fell asleep we were not moving him - at all!

This is in the same basket we just carefully put on the hat. SHHHHH, don't wake the baby. Isn't he precious - I LOVE sleeping babies. I think this is what his mom would like to see around 4 in the morning.

Cousins

I haven't posted any pictures of my little guy in a long time. First he really doesn't like taking his picture. Most of the photos I have of him are in pj's and crying. He had a great Easter and I was excited to put him in the cutest Easter outfit I found. I just love the hat! Our little golfer.

The only place I can take photos of Isaac is buckled in the swing. Below is an OK picture, but I'm getting so tired of the blue, yellow and red background. Maybe one of these days I will get some good photos of him that I can post and be excited about. Until then this is Isaac at 21 months old.

We had my sister over for dinner about 3 weeks ago and I wanted to bring the kids down for some pictures. Isaac was not getting into it, so none of him. I love this photo of Gage. He is now 4 years old and came up with some crazy posing. It makes me smile and that is Gage.

Finally my adorable niece. She made coming down to take photos worth it. Thank you Brinnley. I have some fun girl props, but no one at my house to try it on. I was so happy that Brinnley played along and took some great photos. Below are my favorite three.

I love this photo below. She was so excited to try on the hat and just kept looking up at the rim. I found this hat at the new clothing store for babies and children Pride and Joy. They have a great selection of clothing and accessories, so if you need some ideas before your pictures, check it out.

Saving the best for last once again. I am printing this for my living room. She didn't want to sit in this pottery bowl at all, but I'm so glad we got her to try it out because this picture is precious. This is the smile I get to see everyday I come to pick Isaac up at her house. She makes my day with a hug and this smile. Love you Brinnley!

Sitting on a uncomfortable chair in a great office with so much excitement I cannot type fast enough. My studio is 97% complete and finally my desktop computer is plugged into the Internet and I can edit my photos! I have nothing in the drawers and should be unpacking, but I was too excited to post my next photo shoot. My dear friends had this adorable baby and I was happy to take his newborn photos.

Kaelan's older brother just turned two. He is extremely shy, but right when he walked into the studio he gave me the biggest grin. Tried so hard NOT to smile, but we got some great smiles out of him. Either he is warming up to me or this tells me that my studio is very inviting.

I love this next photo. Hands down my favorite. I know not a smile, but such gorgeous eyes.

The family photo. Such a studio shot, nothing really "fun" about it. It is a great picture though and such a great looking family! I still love to take family photos outdoors with room to play.

What a beautiful mom.

Kaelan was 3 weeks old during this photo shoot. He was awake for 1.5 hours of this photo shoot and the last 20 minutes he finally crashed. Look how well he is holding his head up. Such a strong little man. We are blessed with wonderful friends with great talents. Our friend in Bozeman knitted the blanket on the left, it is extremely soft. Kaelan didn't want to get out of this blanket and I wouldn't either - thanks Madeline. The blanket on the right was knitted for Donovan and I as a wedding gift. I love this blanket and it has rested on the foot of our guest bed for almost 5 years. Now it has a special place in my infant photos - thanks Jenny!

The best time for a newborn session is 3 days to 2 weeks old. Thinking back to when Isaac was born if a photographer told me to bring my new baby in around 3 days old I don't know if I could. Babies still sleep a lot in the first two weeks of life and they are really flexible - better to get them in fun positions. Right around 3 weeks old babies are a lot more alert with longer awake times. Kaelan was so easy going he did a great job being awake. I'm so glad he finally gave it up and fell asleep with 20 minutes left to take photos. The sleeping photos are my favorite!

This last photo - yes saving the BEST for last - is my ALL time favorite! I will have to make this into a huge print for my wall in my new studio. I love it.

Finally. . . my first photo shoot in my new studio/office. I was a little nervous - new lighting, new area, new family to meet. I didn't get a chance to test everything out first, but everything went well. Alex was great and full of smiles. He thought it was fun to scream in the room - lots of noise with no carpet. Look at those eyes - they are beautiful!

I have tons of new props that I can finally use. If I find something shopping now I have places to store it. I will constantly be in the lookout for new props. Anything fun that you find, send me info. I love this pottery bowl & photos . . .

I really didn't know if a seven month old would fit into this basket, but Alex did. These photos turned out so cute.

Studio Project

So the office/studio remodel is not done quiet yet, but getting so close. My girlfriend, Amanda, encouraged me to give the infant/children's studio a try. I have so many fun, unique ideas, and I am so excited to start up this area of children's photography. It is hard to take photos of children in Montana when you never know what the weather is going to be like. My love is shooting photos with natural light, which I will still do. This studio will be geared toward infants, children, and seniors if they want a few indoor photos along with their outdoor session.

Man have we been busy. I say "we" because this has been a family effort. Last year I started thinking about a winter project. Winter in Montana is definitely a slow time in the photography business. There are not a lot of weddings and most families want to wait until spring to take family pictures.

We had a huge office in our home and a huge mud room. My office was always a mess, not organized, and drove me CRAZY! Our mud room was huge and just stored Costco diapers, coats, boxes, etc. So I started to think. I am the person in the house that comes up with the next remodeling idea - I blame my parents. Not that remodeling is a bad thing, but while I grew up they added on to their home 4 different times and I helped rebuild our family deck at least 3 times.

I come up with some ideas in my head, then mention them to Donovan, finally I draw them in AutoCadd, and then the critique. This helps us come up with the best design. This office remodel was changed quiet a few times before we started demolition. The new design gave us (mostly me) a huge office closet and a nice closet in our mud room to "hide" our family mess. You can never have too many closets can you?

One thing I hate most. . . picking out tan? Really I always though, it's tan how can you go wrong. Well we've had pink looking tan, yellow looking tan, too dark, and too light. I think we picked an alright tan, but still not my favorite. If anyone out there has a "must have" tan, please let me know!

There are not any photos of the whole office complete yet. We just got the flooring in and the trim is our next task. We still have a long list of things to complete, but we have walls, paint, and beautiful flooring. My goal is to get the studio complete by March 21st/28th.

I am going to be the lucky photographer at Sam and Luke's wedding in August. After this engagement session I am really excited. They are such a great couple and were up for anything.

It snowed the day before and we were still able to find a few areas with snow for some great pictures. Here are just a few of my favorite pictures from the photo shoot.

This is my favorite photo from the session and one of the last pictures we took. They look so relaxed and cute together. These are the pictures I love to capture. It feels like I am not even there.

Pavin & Palmer

I'm back. Not that I've been gone, but recouping from the busy Christmas season. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and rung in the New Year with family and friends. I have been healing from a horrible cold (2 weeks long) and slept through the New Year celebration.

Now on to the photo shoot. I have had so much fun watching Pavin and Palmer grow throughout these last 2.5 years. I get to photograph them at least once a year. Palmer is the same age as my son, so Kelly and I will have to get together more often on play dates. They would have so much fun together.

This was a fun photo session to start off the year and probably my favorite so far. Pavin is getting older and did great for each picture, and Palmer loves to copy his big sister. So my job was a little easier getting them to sit for the pictures.

This photo shoot was at Pavin & Palmer's house. In Montana you have to take advantage of indoors because you never know what the weather will be like outside. They had plenty of places around their home to take great photos. Palmer was flirting with the camera at first. He was pretty serious during the photo session, but still had tons of great pictures. Here are some of my favorites.

I love this photo of Palmer. He looks so cute sitting there along the banister.

We were lucky on Saturday to be able to go outside. It was gorgeous reaching almost 60 degrees. Below are my favorites from outside.

I love Palmer's face below. He was so excited to hear the dog next door. Pavin was having a blast playing football, tackling her brother, and coming up with poses for me to take her picture in.

This was a fun photo shoot. When Jill called and asked if we could take their family session at their home I was excited to try something a little different. They wanted candid family pictures around their house and I had so many ideas. There were so many favorite pictures from this family session.

Lila had just fallen asleep when I arrived. I had to take advantage of nap time. She fell asleep in her onsie so no naked baby pictures. She is 8 weeks old and it gets hard to get them back to sleep. So we went with what she was wearing and they still turned out precious.

Lila had her photo shoot while mom and dad were getting ready.

Then we included the family. I love this photo.

Of course Sam (their dog) needed to be included also. He is part of the family and very good with Lila.

This was another busy day with two photo shoots in the same day. Renae is a close high school friend of mine and I love photographing their family. Grace is a doll and seven months old. She is so cute and was starting to teeth the day of the photos. Her parents kept saying she isn't smiling and seems grumpy. I think we got some great pictures of the whole family and Grace.

This was mostly a Grace photo shoot. They wanted to wait until she was sitting to take her next set of pictures.

Ethan was six weeks old at his photo session and did great. He took a whole bottle from his mom and then was ready to be a model for the two hours. I haven't had an infant session since April. Ethan was so cute and was a great little model.

Now when I say be ready to possibly be peed on I mean it. I think the whole 3 ounce bottle ended up on mom and dad.

I am going to end this post with two of my favorite pictures. The sleeping picture below is a favorite because it took us 15 minutes or more to try and get Ethan to sleep. Finally the little guy closed his eyes. I bet he crashed once he got in the car.

This photo below gets me into the Christmas spirit. I love it.

This was a fun photo shoot. It has been a long time since I took pictures of a family with older kids, and these kids were great. Hopped right into every picture and smiled on que. I had a great time with this photo shoot trying to get some fun shots of the kids and family.

This family is another busy family with a 10, 9 and 8 year old running in every direction. They have wonderful personalities and kept me laughing during the whole photo shoot.

I met this family for the first time on Saturday. They were the sweetest family that is very busy; three children ages 3, 2 and infant. The 3 year old girl was my little poser, and the 2 year old boy was busy. I was surprised we got him to pose in a few pictures and he did really well. The baby was a sweetheart just checking things out and not fussing at all.

I love it when parents ask, Do you think we got any good pictures? I always know there are going to be a few in there, just never know how many. We got a lot of great pictures of this family, enjoy my favorites.

With boys you need to make sure you take their pictures first thing. This photo was within the first 10 minutes and it turned out cute.

The families are related and I thought it would be fun to get a group picture of the cousin that were there. I think there are 15 cousins and 1 on the way? What a wonderful family. I have been taking their family pictures for about two years, and always look forward to catching up with everyone during the photo session. These kids are so adorable and were very good during the photo shoot. This photo session was Saturday morning right when the wind started to pick up. I just knew we had to find cover or else the girls hair was going to be everywhere! I think with the windy conditions there are still too many to choose from. Here are some of my favorites.

The photo below is cute. Brigham crawling away while Griffin and Adria sit nicely for their picture. He is getting close to walking and then he'll be a kid on the move.

What a fun morning! I photographed this family about 2 years ago and Carter has changed the most. He has gone from little baby to boy. He was so adorable wanting to do anything his sisters did, which made him a great poser.

This was just the children's session today. They are expecting a little brother soon so mom wanted to wait. Although for being 33 weeks along I think you look great! I have to say I love Macee's smile. We tried everything, but her toothless grin just lights me up.

Two senior sessions in one day. Too much fun! This session was supposed to be last weekend when we got 22" of snow. So we waited until this weekend, and we got lucky. Kylie is a wonderful family friend who has a great personality. I was so excited when she asked if I would take her senior outdoor session during the fall with the wonderful Montana colors. Luckily the snow didn't knock off all the leaves.

I love this area of downtown.

She brought great outfits for us to try tons of ideas. This picture turned out so cute.

OK Kylie I don't know if you have been told this before, but the photo below on the right. . . you look so much like your mom and sister.

Zach drove 3 hours for this senior photo session. I was a little nervous when it was raining all morning and we had to postpone it for 2 hours. The weather was still cool, but finally let up.

Now I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea. I love taking family photos and all the children's sessions, but it was so nice to take senior pictures. This was my first senior session all year, and it was great to be able to understand each other. I love the babies and kids, but I always feel like I'm running everywhere and never getting anywhere.

Zach is a pitcher for the Blue Devil's baseball team. It is fun to take senior pictures with props that show off their personality.

Stacy and Zach, thanks so much for driving to Billings for senior pictures. I had a great time. Zach thanks for putting up with all our crazy ideas.

What a doll! I was excited to take Olivia's pictures, and happy to say that we are related. I don't know how far removed we are - she might be my 5th cousin? She is fun and busy, but she cooperated great to take some wonderful pictures.

The fall colors are out right now. It was a beautiful day (once again); the leaves are falling and the trees are turning colors. This usually only lasts for about 3 weeks. I love fall! Most of my favorite pictures from this photo shoot are in color.

These have got to be the cutest girls jeans on a baby. The sweater fits perfect also with her dad serving our country in the Air Force. Thanks for your hard work. Hopefully next time you are in town we can get family pictures.

There is something about the pictures below. I think Olivia could be a model in both of them. The one on the right is just precious.

What dear friends of ours. First I went to high school with Ryan; second he has an amazing wife who I love spending time with; and third their little boy is adorable and plays with Isaac all the time. We seem to get together quite often with men's softball, barbeque's, and the kids playdates. I had so much fun capturing these family photos. Below is my favorite family photo. Usually I fall in love with one of the first pictures we take; the kids are happier and every seems to be "ready" to take pictures. This photo was one of the last pictures taken.

They brought a water bottle to get Ashton's attention. He was so into squirting his parents. I love this picture of him getting them wet.

Ashton is a pretty quiet child. He is getting used to me since we see each other at least once a week for play group, and I even got a huge hug at the end of this photo shoot. I love this picture of him. He was having a blast on the slides in the playground.

OK this might be a long blog, but there are too many great photos. I got to know Kristin through my sister, and she has a wonderful family. They were so much fun to photograph and the kids are adorable!

Doesn't Emme have the most beautiful eyes? She was so good during pictures, and puts up with a lot from her busy brothers.

I'm glad this picture turned out since it was our second try with the brothers walking next to their sister. They both wanted to walk way too fast for her little legs.

An outdoor wedding in Montana is hit or miss ANY time of year. This outdoor wedding was last Saturday, it rained all morning, and I was waiting to see what the day was going to turn out like. Around 2 pm the rain stopped, the sun came out, and it turned into a wonderful day for an outdoor wedding. The whole wedding party has a great time together. The wedding day was full of energy, emotion, and laughter.

I just dealt with Angel by phone before the wedding. It is so nice to meet the bride or couple prior to getting married, so I was excited to finaly meet them. They were ready to take pictures and felt comfortable in front of the camera from the start.

Fun Details from the day.

There was a donkey on site that would make everyone laugh when he started talking.

The wedding took place at Oscar's Dreamland. This museum/park has a pioneer feel with an old historic train and town street, which includes a jail, church, store etc. I haven't spent a lot of time at this park, and there was so many places to take photos at. This is the town church.

Devin with his dog, Mo. Mo followed the wedding party around all day long. A man's best friend.

Since moving back I have gotten to know this family and Brandon better. I was excited when Laura called and asked if I would take some candid photos of her son. He is so full of life and a very busy kid. (most boys are too busy) I always feel like I am at the wrong spot to take the "great" picture, but we still got some great shots of Brandon having fun.

Below are a few of my favorite pictures taken at Pioneer Park. With clouds all day and a few light showers, it turned out to be a great evening for photographs.

This couple was a lot of fun. I work with Kurtis and got to know Chrissie better during the photo shoot. We headed to a new location for me, but one I've really been wanting to take pictures at. . . downtown by the Depot. Chrissie is a natural in front of the camera. She knew exactly what pose I was trying to get them in, and helped out with a few of her own. I love getting the pictures of people in their moments, not posed. Here are a few of my favorites.

I love the trains and fence in the photo below. There were a lot of great places to take pictures downtown. Now I need to get more couple to come down here. It was a lot of fun.

They also wanted some pictures with grass and greenery, so we headed over to MSU-B campus. The sun was starting to set, which made for great lighting.

I had a great evening. I look forward to the wedding next year!

Congratulations! This is an amazing couple and our great friends. We miss them terribly since we have moved. They were friends we could go to dinner with, hang out around the house with, see each other at the gym, and on, and on. We were so excited to hear they got engaged last fall, and were honored that we were both asked to take part in their wedding. So I put my husband in charge of taking a few candid shots of the groomsmen. I was excited to take some photos of Noelle getting her hair done and into her dress. Wish I had that GREAT shot to show you of the couple, but I left that up to their photographer for the wedding. I cannot wait to see your pictures!

Also this was our maiden voyage without Isaac. There is no way we could have chased him around and helped the Bride and Groom. He was a good kid for grandma and grandpa, so that made me feel more at ease.

Noelle's mom has an amazing garden. She created all the flower arrangements for the wedding and the reception hall. It was beautifully done.

On the way home from the wedding my husband mentioned a gorgeous field of sunflowers and thought I might want to take a photograph. I really didn't know if I wanted to get home that way, but I'm so glad we did. The fields were amazing. Great way to end a wonderful weekend.

This is my sister's family. Man are they a cute family. These were my models when I first started out taking pictures, wasn't I blessed with great models? My sister is so cute, she even does the professional head tilt on her own. She has been my model since she was in elementary school.

My adorable nephew. He did a great job for an hour of photos. We had to bribe him now and then with ice cream. Hopefully he got some on the way home.

Such a cutie. I love my niece because she loves me! She is so cute, smiles at me ALL the time, and took a wonderful photo for me on the second picture. I created a photo like this one of my nephew at 11 months old and now it is Brinnley's turn. I cannot believe she is already 11 months old! She did such a great job at this quick little photo shoot. Wedding Albums

There are so many options out there for wedding album designs. My vision in creating a wedding album is timeless simplicity. I want to tell the wedding day story in an elegant piece of art. Below are some pictures of the wedding albums that are included with my wedding packages.

These albums are hand made by Priscilla Foster using the finest materials. The book is covered with silk, bound with ribbon, and followed by ivory archival pages separated by glassine interleaving to protect each image.

Below is a wedding album recently designed for the Caitlin-Michael wedding. Each album typically includes 90-130 photographs from the wedding day. The album includes three different sizes of images; 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10. Every page is designed with the photographs that best tell the wedding story.

I also design 8x10 page layouts to include more photographs from the wedding day. Below is an 8x10 layout of the first time the bride and groom see each other. There are typically 5-10 custom designed 8x10 layouts throughout the album.

What a fun family! I work with Kent and recently had the chance to get to know his wife, Marci, and girls, Dani and Miranda, better. I was asked to photograph Dani's reception earlier this July. They are so much fun and made the hour just fly by. We went down to River Front Park by the Yellowstone River, which is a beautiful place. It looked perfect driving into the parking lot, until I got out of the car; it was being overrun by mosquitoes. I have never seen so many mosquitoes in my life! If we were not trying to take a photo we were all moving to try and keep the mosquitoes off us. I took over 150 photos and around 50 of them were pictures of one person trying to swat away a mosquito. So coming home I wasn't sure what I was going to get for pictures, or if everything was going to be waving arms in the air.

I ended up getting some great pictures, and below are some of my favorites.

Dani and Miranda are awesome. They had great ideas for some fun pictures, and they were so easy to work with. Don't they look like models?

I haven't taken photos of a family with older kids in a long time. I thought this photo was fun.

I think this one is my favorite.

My baby is 1 year old, and this year has just flown by. I can not believe how much a child learns their first year, and how frustrating some days can be trying to teach them. Here is a picture of Isaac on day 1 in the hospital, so peaceful sleeping.

Here is Isaac for 1 year pictures. Yes he now likes to throw rocks. Man are we in trouble. . .

He started walking at 10 months old and this photo shoot was crazy to try and get him to sit. I needed help, lots of help, and never got a great picture of him smiling outside. But I did get a great picture of the tantrums we get now. They are fun. My poor nephew, just sitting there all ready to smile with his cousin, and this is what I got. Yes the feet are kicking.

So outside I didn't have any luck, maybe next month. Inside I did have some luck keeping him in front of the camera. Here is my sweet boy with his great smile and beautiful blue eyes. I wish I could see his smile all the time.

Something fun to do at a year old portrait session is to bring in a cake and at the end of the session let the baby destroy it. I spent quite some time making this cute cake. He did not eat one bite of it (he doesn't like sweets) but he did end up destroying the cake. He had a lot of fun getting all sticky, which ended in bath time.

What a fun wedding, beautiful day, and the largest wedding party I have seen in a long time. They would do anything, so we got some great photos. The day started out at the salon where all the girls were putting on makeup, fixing their hair, visiting, and having a great time.

Caitlin looked gorgeous and she has such a wonderful personality. It was fun to see her meet Michael for the first time.

We took some wonderful photos all over the campus of Rocky.

This was really a quick photo shoot. We got caught in a thunderstorm right at the end. For the limited amount of time we got some great shots of both families. These families were amazing; one family had the most beautiful blue eyes that I had ever seen, and the other family was blessed with the deep brown gorgeous eyes. It took awhile for all three kids to warm up, but finally right before the rain we got some great pictures of their little personalities. Here are some of my favorites.

The beginning of June in Montana you never know what to expect. It was cold enough to snow in the morning and threatened to rain in the afternoon, but we lucked out and had a beautiful day for a wedding. We were able to get some shots outside with the sun peeking through here and there. The church also had beautiful windows to get some shots inside of the families and wedding parties. Such a fun family. I've had the privilege to photograph these kids since Pavin was 6 months old. Now she is 2 and 1/2 and full of energy, always on the move, and LOVES to talk. It was hard to photograph her, but so much fun to listen to her and watch her move all around. Palmer is very easy going and just loves life. He has started to crawl, so yes on the move, but a little easier to maintain and photograph. These were Palmer's 1 year pictures, and we got some great shots of smiles and hopefully a glimpse into his personality. We almost got caught in a thunderstorm, but luckily it went around us and we had a great evening of photo fun. Thanks!!
